FCC RECEIVED HATEFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT LIL NAS X’S “DISGUSTING & DISTURBING” ON-AIR KISS

Lil Nas X made waves at the 2021 BET awards when, during his performance of “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” he engaged in a steamy kiss with one of his dancers, another man.

Following the performance, fans and celebrities alike celebrated the moment, but not everyone was pleased. TMZ gained access to three complaints that were filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) about the performance.

The first one was from the Bronx: “I was very disturbed to see 2 men practically having sexual in the stage when the awards show is supposed to be a family show. It’s ridiculous and children and adults are being forced to endure this. Unacceptable and I will be unsubscribing from BET network. DISGUSTING AND DISTURBING!!!!!!!!”

Another viewer in Oklahoma wrote, “During a performance 2 gay men kissed. Why are you showing this on tv. It is disgusting and wrong for kids to see because it’s unnatural.”

Another complaint was filed from someone in Philadelphia about the “Satanism” in Nas’s performance.

“Satanism shouldn’t be broadcast on a family oriented award show,” it said.

The same complaint took aim at Cardi B, who revealed her pregnancy on stage. “Also, a woman that proudly admitted to drugging and robbing men shouldn’t be celebrated. And it’s highly unacceptable for a pregnant woman to be performing sexually. What message does that send to our kids? It’s disgusting!”

The person who filed that complaint was referring to what Cardi B has already referred to as “poor choices” she made in the past because she “had to do to survive.”

Nas also received significant backlash on Twitter, but as always seems to be the case, he wasn’t fazed and clapped back to the haters.

i’m sorry but the thought of niggas sitting their kids down in the living room and telling them gay people exist is so hilarious to me https://t.co/8ESprtirAy

y’all hate yourselves so much. y’all live your lives trying your best to appease straight ppl. y’all are uncomfortable with what i do because y’all are afraid they will be uncomfortable with you. work on yourselves, i love who i am and whatever i decide to do. get there. https://t.co/oHoYkux98F

you’re right i am insecure about my sexuality. i still have a long way to go. i’ve never denied that. when you’re conditioned by society to hate yourself your entire life it takes a lot of unlearning. which is exactly why i do what i do. https://t.co/PtiehZdDGS

Nas also thanked those who have supported and celebrated him, tweeting, “it took me a lot of time to mentally prepare for this performance. while on stage i was trembling knowing that i was performing something like that in front of my straight peers. even during the performance i was having a hard time calming my nerves. thank you guys for the love.”

Another viewer in Oklahoma wrote, “During a performance 2 gay men kissed. Why are you showing this on tv. It is disgusting and wrong for kids to see because it’s unnatural.”
Did people react the same way with Madonna’s gay kiss on stage?

OK so its disgusting for straight kids to see two men kissing on tv because it’s unnatural….what about gay kids being bombarded with images of straight sex on TV…?
As a kid growing up, I found that public display disgusting. I was traumatised, and forced to think the if Im not straight then to hell with me. “It’s ridiculous and children and adults are being forced to endure this. As a gay kid I had the same thought. I felt as though I was being forced to endure the mental torture of having to watch a straight lifestyle to which I did’nt adhere to….

“I’m sorry but the thought of niggas sitting their kids down in the living room and telling them gay people exist is so hilarious to me.” .This comment is so sad on so many levels that I wont even detail it…It only reinforces my love for NAS and all the others out there who are fighting on the frontlines for our liberty and TRUE FREEDOM
